I was reminded today of some of the fringe benefits of writing. One is relationships we form. I believe God creates divine appointments for us. Some of these are professional. He connects us with the right agent or publisher at the right time and we’re on our way to being published.
Others are personal and, in many ways, more valuable. I discovered that two of my critique partners are going to the same conference. One lives in Idaho, the other in Kentucky and the conference is in Indiana.
I was struck by how many people I’ve met through this writing adventure, people I would never have met otherwise. I’ve formed relationships and developed friendships that have caused me to grow as a person, deeper in my faith, more willing to trust and open up, to risk.
Thank you all for being a part of my life and thank You, Father, for the divine connections that brought us together.
